With their ”wall of fuzz”, the Swedish duo NOVA BLAST have a strange way of finding their way into the hearts of different audiences. Whether it has been by opening for acclaimed lo-fi electro acts or breaking the sound barrier at punk, doom and indie festivals, NOVA BLAST have made a mark. On Eccolalia - their wonderfully loud, melodic, dynamic and long-awaited debut LP - they continue to do so. The album will be released on September 16th via Rama Lama Records, a label that traditionally have been releasing more indie pop/rock-leaning music fell in love with NOVA BLAST and their "broken" pop music years ago and are so proud of putting out the loudest record on the label so far.

After releasing what was considered the best Swedish shoegaze single of 2017 (according to Swedish music connoisseurs HYMN), the Malmö based duo Nova Blast went through a turbulent time recording before having to sell most of their gear to fund their dogs medical treatment. Left with broken hearts and homemade junkpart guitars, Nova Blast left their old label for Malmös heartbeat Rundgång Rekords where they 2019 released their self recorded 4-track debut EP "Min Vän", dedicated to their dogs Jedna and Hero.

Since then, Nova Blast have been working on finishing their debut album 'Eccolalia' which is now finally set to be released. The album treats the time when lyricist and frontman Anti Zurowski was in neuropsychological evaluation - it’s a diary about Swedish mental health care, forced medication, stigma and insomnia. The lyrics (in both Swedish and English) are purposely dreamy, metaphorical, repetitive and shaped as dialogues to capture the broad (and chaotic) range of his inner conversations. The same can be said about the music with sudden shifts in dynamics and sensory stimulating walls of reverb and distortion, a focus on bass/mid glide chords and noise crescendos.

Nova Blast are Anti Zurowski (music, lyrics, vocals, guitar) and Viktor Höber (drums). The album is recorded and mastered by Zakarias Lindhammar and mixed by Anna Helmersson. In the studio Malin Hofvander (Mary Anne’s Polar Rig) contributed to the recording with guitar, vocals, bow, electric drill and remote control sounds.

'Eccolalia' is out on September 16th digitally and on limited blue/pink vinyl via Stockholm/Malmö based Rama Lama Records.
